State Rep. Tom Kunse criticized Gov. Gretchen Whitmer's economic development strategies, stating that "No business owner decides to relocate to a state whose focus is on business-killing green energy and lining the pockets of union bosses." Kunse expressed concerns about the impact of Democrat leadership on small businesses in Michigan.

Kunse also highlighted the repeal of right-to-work protections, aggressive anti-business union tactics, and energy mandates that threaten Michigan industry under the current leadership. He emphasized the importance of supporting hardworking people and businesses, stating that "People need their money back to climb out of this inflationary pit we all face, not more misguided government programs."

Regarding the proposed High-wage Incentive for Regional Employment (HIRE) plan, Kunse criticized the focus on large, coastal corporations over small, Michigan-based businesses. He pointed out the flaws in the Good Jobs program, which failed to create any verified jobs despite significant financial investment.

House Republicans, on the other hand, have called for a holistic economic growth plan that prioritizes small businesses. They aim to create a healthy economic environment that benefits workers and businesses, rather than focusing on attracting large corporations through incentives.
